Current “Nevada History” question & answer from Kent’s Newsletter:

Some individuals drive faster than others in Nevada and “out-of-staters” can be a problem. Just a little north of Gerlach, how fast was Mr. Andrew Green observed to be driving on October 13, 1997?

Answer: Driving on the Black Rock Desert a little north of Gerlack, on October 13, 1997, Mr. Green, from England, became the first person to break the sound barrier in a land based vehicle. Two days later he bested that feat by making two supersonic passes that averaged 763.035 miles per hour!
